However, for jewellery, watches, gold, and any high-value lots over £500, delivery must be made to the billing address of the payment card and will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery for security.
Some lots have a combined postage option, which means you pay a reduced rate per lot when you win multiple items that are grouped together.
Here's how it works:
- Each lot has a standard postage fee and a lower combined postage fee set by the auctioneer.
- When you win several lots that are part of the same combined postage group, every lot is charged at its combined rate — not the standard rate.
- If you only win one lot, the standard postage fee applies.
Example: You win 6 lots, each with a standard postage of £20 and a combined postage of £5:
- Without combined postage: 6 × £20 = £120
- With combined postage: 6 × £5 = £30
- You save £90
The final invoice clearly itemises all postage charges so you can see exactly what you're paying.
